Display Manufacturer Outperforms Philips in Global Marketplace
FREMONT, Calif. July 16, 2001 Envision Peripherals, Inc., (EPI), a partially-owned company of Taiwan-based Top Victory Electronics (TPV), announced today that TPV has overtaken Philips(R) Electronics as the second largest PC computer monitor manufacturer in the world. According to the Market Intelligence Center, (MIC), Taiwans premier IT industry research and consulting firm, TPV surpassed Philips by a margin of more than 450,000 units shipped during the first quarter of 2001, bringing TPVs quarterly results to 2.8 million units. For the 12th consecutive year, TPV has experienced continued growth in the display market, having shipped more than 12 million units in 2000. We are excited about our new position as the second-largest display manufacturer in the world. Despite the general market slowdown, we have enjoyed strong monitor sales and are on track to surpass last years numbers, said TPV Global Sales Director Tom Kang.
