AOC Monitor Cited as “Good Choice” When Looking to Upgrade a CRT

San Francisco, Calif. - October 30, 2002 - In a recent CRN Test Center review, AOC Monitors’ new AOC LM800, one of the company’s newest 18-inch products, was lauded as a good product for solution providers serving the small-business space as a route for upgrade sales from bulky, space-eating CRTs.

The AOC LM800 18.1-inch flat panel display (FPD) is described as the type of product that is attractively priced, delivers desired features for users and provides significant profits for resellers. Other attributes include delivering benefits such as energy savings, a compact form factor and reduced eyestrain, in addition to an exceptional price. According to CRN’s Marc Spiwak, “One good choice is AOC’s LM800 FPD. This 18.1-inch display produces a great image and sells for about $699. Once customers see this display set up next to a 19-inch CRT, they may well prefer the FPD.”

The CRN review also stated that FPDs use less than half the power of comparable CRTs, cost less to ship and store and due to recent price reductions, “FPDs have become an attractive choice for small businesses open to a display update.” And, for more health-conscious customers, FPDs as compared to CRTs, give off almost no EMF emissions. In addition to desirable power consumption, weight, form factor and price, the review additionally cites the attractively sleek look of FPDs versus bulky CRTs.

An added bonus for solution providers is the margin factor on FPDs. According to the review, “good margins on FPDs can translate into significant profits for resellers.”
