Envision 18” LCD Lands at the Top of CNET’s Review List
EN-8100e Scores High Marks for Clarity and Usability

San Francisco, February 2003: “Anyone who wants to equip a Mac or PC with a flat screen should consider this big, simple panel,” stated CNET’s editors, who have just rated Envision Monitors’ EN-8100e one of the best in its class.

Describing the EN-8100e as offering, “rich, bright colors and sharp, eye-pleasing text,” the reviewers recommended the model for home and office users alike. “Home and office buyers who need a decent, inexpensive flat screen for writing, building spreadsheets, and cleaning up photos can’t do better than this,” read the review.

The EN-8100e was also commended for its simple design and ease of use. “the EN-8100e won’t confound LCD novices,” stated the editors. “The screen worked instantly when we plugged its built-in video cord into our [test unit].” In terms of on-screen adjustability, the model’s control features were described as being “less confusing than many we’ve seen.” The key, stated the reviewers, is simple buttons and lack of on-screen submenus. “Such a design makes it impossible to get confused about what menu or level of the menu hierarchy you’re in.”

Retailing at prices starting at $549, the EN-8100e is a sure hit with home and office users who need to economize without sacrificing quality. The LCD offers an impressive 18.1” viewing area, which means maximum work area with minimal scrolling. It has a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 for sharp on-screen images and text, as well as a 28mm (H) x .28mm (V) pixel pitch.

“The EN-8100e should be a comfortable investment for users who need a large screen and image clarity,” stated Tak Shimizu, VP of Sales and Marketing for Envision. “This model puts LCD technology within reach—and budget—of most users. CNET’s acknowledgement of its quality and simplicity confirms we’ve accomplished what we set out to do.”
